However, the comedies were written so beautifully that it was astonishing that a person suffering from mental illness could write so beautifully. When I dug a little deeper to know more about Lamb siblings I learned that Mary Lamb suffered from some mental illness and in a fit once mortally wounded her mother as a result of which she was confined to mental facilities for most of her remaining life.
